Hi, I’m Jayne Durbin, and welcome to Balance Pilates, a class for physio-led Pilates in Banbury! If you are looking to improve your balance, posture, and flexibility, or even aid a recovery from an injury, you will find my Pilates classes a great place to do just that, while making friends and having a wonderful time in a relaxed atmosphere.

If you wish to recover from an injury or regain strength and stability, Rehabilitation Pilates could well be the exercise for you. It reconditions your body from the core to correct imbalances and balance out weaknesses, and prevent the recurrence of injury, particularly lower back pain.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is very much about the connection between your mind and your body, and the idea of ‘centring’, becoming present in your own body and feeling a sense of control and relaxation. As you perform different moves, you will begin to feel improvements in your posture, flexibility, and strength, especially in the core, where the stability of your body during the movement comes from.

With my physio-led Pilates in Banbury, you will gain all the benefits of this great exercise and have a wonderful time too. Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome to take part in my classes.

What is different about my classes?

My approach is to make classes fun and enjoyable first of all. As a qualified physiotherapist of nearly 30 years, I use APPI rehabilitation Pilates, which modifies the traditional moves into a graded progression, which allows for people of all fitness levels to safely participate.

Classes are always small and friendly and welcoming, and all the equipment needed is supplied, including yoga mats, head supports, soft balls, magic circles, resistance bands and gym balls. I change classes and moves every week to keep my physio-led Pilates in Banbury fresh and fun for all.
